As a believer in Christ, you are already seated WITH Jesus in heavenly places!
In this month’s podcast, Pastor Kristi and Dawna DeSilva chat through what it looks like to be seated with Jesus Christ in the 3rd heaven and pray WITH Him from a place of peace.
“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.” – Ephesians 2:6-7
As sons and daughters of God, who live with the Holy Spirit inside of us, we have been given an incomparable gift of being with Jesus at all times. We are actually bi-locational, living here on earth in physical bodies while our spirits exist IN Christ. And where is Jesus right now? Seated at the right hand of the Father!
“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” – Ephesians 1:18-23
The above passage in Scripture says that God raised Jesus from the dead and seated Him at His right hand, FAR ABOVE all rule and authority, power and dominion…
That’s incredible. This means that we too are actually seated in this same heavenly place. It’s our reality, whether we realize it or not.
We can actually pray from this place.
When we pray from this heavenly seat, far above all earthly rule and dominion, we are filled with hope and peace.
We do not pray from a place of failure or defeat. We pray from a place of great joy and confidence in what God is doing.
The key to this is knowing Jesus really well and ensuring that we are spending time with Him daily so we know His voice, we know His character and we trust Him no matter what.
This helps us to discern when deception and offense come our way.
In John 10:4-5, Jesus says that “…his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”
Through time spent with Jesus and diving into His Word, we know what the voice of our Shepherd, our Savior, our Redeemer sounds like.
When we know Him in such a familiar way, we know instantly when He is speaking and when it’s something or someone else.
