24/7 Prayer: God always hears us
Note from Kristi Graner
“Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him.” – Psalm 62:5
Prayer is an essential part of a walk with Jesus. The gifts and outcomes of prayer are literally life-changing. At Dare to Believe Ministries, we take all types of prayer very seriously – because Jesus took prayer very seriously.
“Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.” – Matthew 6:9-13 (TLT)
I love a good prayer meeting – gathering with like-minded believers to talk to God and move mountains.
Jesus had so much to tell us about gathering and the power of prayer:
“Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:19-20
“Then Jesus said to the disciples, ‘Have faith in God. I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.'” – Mark 11:22-25
Praying in groups is wonderful and powerful. I seek out opportunities to pray in groups. However, there is also power in praying when we are alone with God.
Gary and I want to touch base with you to tell you about Dare to Believe Ministries’ 24/7 prayer team. We are so grateful for this crew of committed and powerful prayer warriors.
Each week our 24/7 Prayer team members commit to pray separately for one hour. They are faithful to hold their prayer post for one hour each week for an entire year.
During this prayer time, we intentionally connect with Holy Spirit, pray for our families, our communities, churches, neighbors, leaders and anything else the Lord puts on our hearts. This team’s faithfulness to listen to the Lord and to pray each week is making a powerful impact.
We do this because we know that Jesus himself often went away alone to pray.
“But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places to pray.” – Luke 5:16
And He encourages us to do the same.
“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” – Matthew 6:6
Gary and I have both have committed to an hour a week on this team. We love it! Obviously, it is good to serve and pray…however, we have also both been personally encouraged and strengthened by our weekly prayer times.
We experience a connection with heaven through God’s Spirit that can only be described as “supernatural.” Partnering with Holy Spirit to pray changes everything.
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.” – Romans 8:26-27
The Holy Spirit plays a supernatural role in our capacity to pray in agreement with heaven. When we have trouble finding the right words, the Holy Spirit takes our efforts, reads our hearts, and intercedes on our behalf in ways that bypass our understanding. The power of the Holy Spirit is crucial since the Holy Spirit searches our hearts and puts them in alignment with the mind and will of God.
When we pray partnering with heaven, each prayer pulls heaven to earth in a tangible way. God always hears.
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” – 1 John 5:14
Because of Jesus, each one of us has access through the Holy Spirit to the throne room of God, which means we get to partner with heaven to bring heaven to earth. We can do this by asking the Lord what heaven says about an issue, a person, a city, a country, and even a nation! There is no limit to the questions that we can ask the Lord. And when we hear from the Lord through prayer and scripture, we have the opportunity to agree with heaven!
As this 24/7 Prayer Team prays – we are also able to pray in unity because at the end of each hour, we bless the next team member through text or email with any insights, scriptures or topics the Lord has highlighted. This means there is a consistent flow of prayer throughout the entire week. So we are praying in agreement and passing on our Holy Spirit insights continually.
I encourage you to “Dare to Believe“ Jesus when He tells you that prayer will move mountains, that your Father hears your prayers, that you can pray agreeing with heaven because you are seated with Jesus, and that all you need is the faith of a mustard seed.
We bless you as you ‘Dare to Believe’ that your prayers are changing history! We are always interested in adding to this team of prayer warriors! This is an opportunity that brings unity and strength that only Holy Spirit based relationships can bring. If you are ready to commit to praying for one hour, weekly, for the year, please sign up below.
If you are interested but have questions about joining the 24/7 prayer team, please send an email to brittani@dare2believe.biz.
Our prayer for you this season is that you will experience the resurrection power of Jesus in tangible and lasting ways. That God’s goodness will be evident as you spend time with people you love, and that you will reflect our Jesus to everyone you encounter.
God is doing more through your life that you could ever imagine.
Spend time with Him and watch miracles happen.
With love,
Kristi
