Father: fa – ther.
1. Provider, protector and supporter.
2. So much more….
In the month of June, we traditionally celebrate Father’s Day and we are glad that we do. Fathers have such an important, and many times under-valued, role.
This month we especially recognize the important role that godly men play in God’s plan for humankind.
We are grateful for the godly men that the Lord has brought to Dare to Believe Ministries. Men who understand the important role they play in God’s Kingdom. Strong men who partner with strong women to bring blessings and increase all around them.
“But among the Lord’s people, women are not independent of men, and men are not independent of women.” – 1 Corinthians 11:11
In the book of Genesis we read the well-known story of Adam, Eve, the forbidden fruit and the serpent. This is an age-old account of how the enemy of our souls works to separate mankind from God. It is important to note that as part of this, our spiritual enemy worked specifically to bring division between men and women. This was part of the curse that entered as mankind was separated from God.
Jesus came to restore so many things for us.
One thing He modeled so beautifully is the important role of men in God’s kingdom and the honorable relationship available between men and women.
This is my (Kristi’s) first Father’s Day since my own father passed away last January. It is a bittersweet day. I am so grateful for the father that I had. And I am grateful for the godly men who have been spiritual fathers in my life, from an amazing Sunday School teacher when I was young to the Godly apostolic voices that continue to encourage, challenge and bless me today.
It is our hope that you have an amazing father and wonderful godly male role models in your life.
With God’s help, these men bless us and strengthen us. Sometimes, however, their insecurities and pain can harm us.
Sadly, not all the men placed in our lives as “fathers” are able to walk out God’s full plan for them. Their own wounds, combined with society’s expectations and unhealthy twists of religion, can bring harm. This is a part of life here on earth that can cause us great pain and brokenness.
This brokenness in us is an opportunity for lies to enter our soul – lies about our perfect Father God, Jesus the lover of our souls and Holy Spirit.
On a daily basis, we at Dare to Believe Ministries are blessed to partner with Jesus to help you remove those lies – and many times they are the deep “father lies” that were planted while you were growing up.
We partner with Holy Spirit to restore God’s truth and bring wholeness to your spirit, soul and body.
As we receive this healing, we are able to be open to a fuller relationship with our heavenly Father and can also start leading a more fruitful life that will impact people around us.
As Father’s Day approaches, we encourage you to take intentional time to acknowledge, honor, bless and thank the fathers in your life.
All human fathers bring imperfections with them, but we still honor the fathering role they play in our lives. Say thank you. Let them know the good things you see in them – the ways they have blessed you. It is important, both for them and for you.
“Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.” – Exodus 20:12
“‘Honor your father and mother’ (this is the first commandment with a promise)…” – Ephesians 6:2
Blessings to you – we celebrate you!
With love,
Gary & Kristi Graner
