Prophecy is meant to uplift and build up the Body of Christ, to serve and minister to the Church, not to seek a platform or put people on a pedestal. As we see throughout the book of 1 Corinthians, the primary motivation of the gift of prophecy is love.
Character and gifting are both important, yet character is emphasized because it is essential in maintaining the purity and health of prophetic ministry.
Our identity needs to be anchored in our relationship with Father God, not on validation from other people, our own giftings or titles.
Prophetic ministry is like a mail carrier, simply delivering the message from sender to recipient. We need to keep our focus on the Sender, not on the messenger. The messenger is simply there to serve.
