Sozo: healing from the inside out!

Note from Pastor Kristi Graner

Each month our newsletter features a different ministry and facet of Dare to Believe Ministries. We are so glad you are here and thank you for reading!

There are so many ways that people minister in inner healing and deliverance. As long as the ministry is rooted and grounded in God’s Word and Jesus is at the center – we applaud the ministry. Our world is clearly in dire need of healing of all types.

Jesus paid a tremendous price for us to live in abundant life – so we say, “More, Lord!”

One of the main verses where Jesus describes what He was doing and who He is found in Luke 4:17-21: “…and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written: ‘The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.’ Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. He began by saying to them, ‘Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.'”

Here at Dare to Believe Ministries, our inner healing and deliverance ministry is focused around the Bethel Sozo model and the work that Jesus did with people when He walked the earth.

Sozo is simply a Greek word that is used more than 270 times in the New Testament.

The Greek Lexicon defines the word Sozo as:

  • To save, keep safe and sound, to rescue from danger or destruction.
    • one (from injury or peril)
      • to save a suffering one (from perishing), i.e., one suffering from disease, to make well, heal, restore to health
      • to preserve one who is in danger of destruction, to save or rescue
  • to save in the technical Biblical sense
  • to deliver from the penalties of the Messianic judgment
  • to save from the evils which obstruct the reception of the Messianic deliverance

At Dare to Believe Ministries, unless we are doing a group workshop, Sozo ministry is a personal and private ministry session. The Sozo session typically consists of one person receiving ministry and prayer from 2 or 3 trained Sozo ministers.

Each Sozo session generally lasts 60-90 minutes, during which we utilize a variety of prayer tools that focus on following the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

The truth is that Jesus’ sacrifice covers everything and that the work of the cross is a finished work.

However, the realities of this world include the presence of an enemy who works in our lives to steal, kill and destroy.

Sozo ministry is designed to partner with the Lord to uncover and heal the wounds and lies that have given our spiritual enemy access into our lives.

Those places where the lies reside are then replaced with God’s powerful truth.

The goal of this ministry is to assist and partner with Jesus to build strong Kingdom foundations in individual lives.

Sozo is not a once and done type ministry – it is a way of Christian life. It is a process that assists us in living from Glory to Glory by partnering with our Savior who paid the price for us to walk in abundant life.

Over the past 14 years, Dare to Believe Ministries has partnered with the Holy Spirit to bring freedom and inner healing to thousands of people. In 2022 alone, the DTB Sozo team led 315 Sozo Ministry sessions! Most ministry sessions are done in person, however approximately 12% of DTB sessions are done online.

Through this beautiful ministry, people are reconnected in a powerful way with the God who created them. Here are some comments from some of our more recent ministry sessions:

As most of you know, our Sozo ministry is donation based. We ask that each person who receives a ministry session would donate to Dare to Believe Ministries. We suggest a donation of $90 per Sozo session (due to increased ministry costs we’ve had to increase our costs), but we don’t want that price to deter you from receiving the healing you need.

We welcome you to donate what you feel the Lord has led you to give – some people donate less and some people give more. We also have several people who donate to the Sozo ministry so that we can provide sessions to those who are unable to donate.

We experience God’s goodness and faithfulness in the freedom we see in people’s lives. He is so good. He has paid a tremendous price for our freedom. As we see lives changed and healed, we realize that Jesus is receiving what He paid for in each person’s life.

God is doing great things through the Sozo Ministry at Dare to Believe Ministries. We are so grateful that you are part of this ministry.
